I had a question for some of the AV folks here.. Its a bit of science and a bit of brand loyalty involved, but I had a setup question.

I have a new Home with a 16'x22' Rectangular Room - Fireplace (with TV above it) in the front, Open back.

I am currently looking to do a 5.1 setup with A Super Cinema X Soundbar in the Front and HTR7000's as the rear surrounds .

Most likely a Supersub X

Life was alot easier when I had my Triton 2's / Super Center XL / etc in a theater setup. I wont have that in this new home, and im stuck with a Soundbar given the configuration and use of the room.

that being said, I am looking to purchase either a reciever or a pre-amp / amp combo.

given the above setup, what would people use with this setup? Keep in mind we are going to be watching sports / digital movies / general TV watching. I would like to maximize this setup from a SQ perspective.

The GoldenEar 3D Array soundbars use the same driver technology as your Tritons did (same drivers actually, just no powered bass section), so the sky's the limit on electronics. That's actually the point of the GoldenEar soundbar, it allows one to fit the desired aesthetic without compromising performance. Make sure the sub(s) are positioned in the front of the room where the soundbar is located, crossover the soundbar at the appropriate frequency, and you will have a system that sounds much like your Tritons.
