Currently have Triton 3+ and SCXXL for the front, SS50's for the surrounds.
2 areas need some advice. First the rears, looking at SS50's or maybe Aon2/3. I could go either way.
2nd, is the Ceiling Atmos speakers. I was looking at the HTR7000's which I see alot of (actually have full HTR7000 5.1 in Living room), but concerned about the penetration through my isolation shell, and the right side has HVAC ducts that would impede on the speaker. So I was considering building a box to attach to the ceiling and put the HTR 7000's in, or mounting SS3's to the ceiling.
Finished ceiling will probably be 8ft front the floor. Any input/suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome CRRobert!!!!
I am sure it will sound great whichever, or whatever way you go. You are certainly starting with the right speakers up front, and getting GEt all around will be a SURE WINNER!!!!!
Just personally, I would go for the Aons in the rear. To my ears they sound better, and they can always be re-purposed for another system later when you get the Triton Ones for the front and move the T 3s to the back as I did. Ha ha, maybe just kidding, but you never know.
I hope others can help with the Atmos part, I don't have a clue there.
Have fun with it, you will have a great system,
happy listening, God Bless,
Wayne

Watching this thread....I'm in a bit of a similar dilemma somewhat...trying to decide on surrounds for the rear.
I've got the T2+ up front right now, in the basement. Plans are for the SCXXL, MPX for surrounds (sides). But the rears? I'm exploring either the Sat3s, or the Sat50s...and in the past couple days have been entertaining the possibility of going with Aons for the rears.
I'm not jacking the thread, though. Robert I was dead set on the 50s for the rears, because I've got the Sat3s upstairs in another 5.1 system, so I'm familiar with that and thought I'd like more depth in the surrounds. BUT then I stumble upon this guy's post in another forum:
www.avsforum.com/forum/89-speakers/16040...nds-supersat-3s.html
And he says he went with the 50s initially but found they were too much for that role, and traded them in for 3s and feels like he's not missing anything at all.
In addition, my dealer is also saying that he thinks the 50s would be too much and would be underutilized as well in the room I'm building (12'8" x 23' -- I don't know the dimensions of your room maybe it's a very different scenario). I didn't ask him about the Aons but I'd assume he'd say that's overkill as well.
So I'm torn too... and I guess I wonder just how much depth is actually necessary in the rears? Especially if I'm planning to add one or two subs in the back as well. Don't know if you have plans to add a separate sub.
Good luck to you. I'm sure it sounds great already.

Wayne, thanks for the encouragement. While at it, suggest the Triton Reference , was thinking that, but actually with the Triton 2+.
Room will be about 19 x 12 when done, acoustically transparent screen up front.
Will have separate sub center front and center rear. Original design was to use Procella P5V speakers (90-20K -3db specs) for all but the L,C,R(procella P8's)

CRRobert,
I have the Aon 3 speakers for surrounds and rears. I believe they do a phenominal job! With today's object based surround mixes, a more capable speaker is not a bad thing: certainly not too much.
You can find opinions all over the internet steering you this way or that. Mine is just one more. The best advice would be to go to your dealer and have a listen first hand to your various options. Listen to a variety of material and pick the speaker that you think sounds best and will work in your setup.
I admit that I tend to go big but I have never regretted my choice in the Aons for surrounds and rears. If anything, I'd go bigger or in wall for a stealth look. No matter which way you want or need to go, GET has you covered. I haven't seen another brand that has so many options that all work so well together. You are certainly off to a good start, and as Wayne said, it will sound great which ever way you go. Let us know how it goes. Pics are always appreciated!
Cheers,
T Cobe

The Jay,
the comments your advisors make, and in particular your dealer kinda, sorta make my blood boil. BUT, as someone who has moved his Triton 2s to the sides and replaced his T 7s in the rear with his Triton 3s, because the Ones are up front (along with a SC X in the center and a FF5 in the rear center) you can take what I am gonna say with a measure of salt if you wish. I wouldn't blame you.
BUT they don't know what they are talking about!!!!
Last night when we watched The BFG, the lady who runs the orphanage opens the door behind right of us and looks in the room, we only see a shadow of that on screen, but it was so totally believable that my daughter sitting over on that side thought someone was coming in the room behind her. It was NOT some little EFFECT.
And when I put on a TACET 5.1 music disc which has one instrument recorded on each channel around the room, so that I am in the middle of the music I can only feel sorry for those who only have little "effect" speakers around them. They don't know what they are missing. Some concerts are recorded this way as well, putting you in with the musicians, though I must admit preferring the normal, I am in the audience mix.
Yes, it is true that a LOT of movies do not make good use of the surround speakers, especially the rear surrounds (7.1), but that is changing. Hopefully it will change some more.
I mean, if your own dealer doesn't want to sell you good surround speakers, let him ask Sandy what GEt uses for surround speakers in their demos--I believe it was the T 2s!!!
Nuff said, have fun with it, I gotta go take some blood pressure meds,
God Bless,
Wayne
