Hi -

Hoping someone can help me out. I'm installing a GET 5.1.4 system in a room that is 14'6 wide by 12 feet long. Ceiling height is 7'11. 65 Inch TV will be centered on the 14'6 foot wall. Couch will be centered along the opposite wall against the wall.
So far I plan on getting:
2 SuperSat 60's (L&R)
1 SuperSat 60C (Center)
4 HTR 7000 (In ceiling for Atmos)

My question is in regards to the rear surrounds. Since my couch is against the wall, should I be getting a second pair of HTR 7000's or a a pair of Invisa MPX speakers? Where should these be placed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, Bubba99

Congratulations on choosing GEt speakers, and welcome to the "user friendly" forum!

First, I'd suggest you need to have a speaker somewhere in the system that can handle the bass portion. The speakers you mention (all amazing), aren't really designed to be set as full range/large. SO, somewhere in your set-up, full range speakers or a sub that can handle the bass portion would be appropriate.

Some thoughts: maybe a GEt sub(or two) first, and if budget constraints, then adding the rear surrounds later when budget allows...

Whatever you choose, you're going to LOVE the GEt sound!

Happy listening!

Rick

Thanks Rick. That's great feedback. I have a 12 inch sub that I will be using for this. Since the contractor will be here, i'm taking care of all the cable routing and hole cutting now. I'll most likely be adding a second sub or upgrading the current one in the future.

Welcome to the forum Bubba, you are gonna build a great Home Theater.
Can you move the sofa up a foot or so?
Away from the back wall? That will give you a better picture, fill your vision more, and better sound, room for a little behind your seating position surround sound action.
IF you can do that, it will help I promise you. And most people sit way too far from the TV, a leftover from Mom telling you to move back away from the TV. ha ha
Hope this helps,
Wayne

Hi Wayne

Thanks Wayne. Many thanks for your suggestion. I have an unfortunate door location that will keep the couch against the wall.
