Good day eh. The room is 12'8" x 23'. It's already home to T2+ for L&R, powered by Marantz SR7010. I'm also planning to pick up an SCXXL at some point.

Eventually, the room will go Atmos, likely with the Invisa 7000s in the ceiling.

But what I'm trying to decide on is a direction for the surrounds and rears.

Any opinions on going with MPX, supersat 3s or 50s for either of those roles?
I've heard from people that the MPX has really wide soundfield. But I read someone's post somewhere that reported finding them a bit 'thin' and they replaced those with the 50s.

But then I read someone else's post somewhere that went with 50s for the sides and the rears, and they thought it was too much and replaced them with 3s.

I'm very used to the sat 3s, I've had them in 5.1 for a few years now, and cranked with a sub they're great all around but I do find them a bit thin in the midbass.
However if I'm not mistaken, the sides and the back don't play near what the fronts do, typically...so maybe the 50s might be overkill? Or is a bit more beef necessary when added to the T2+?
I haven't heard the MPXs at all.

Anyone running any of these with the Tritons? Or can maybe comment at least on how they might sound compared to each other?
Any suggestions on which to go with, or do I use more than one model for each role?

Thanks for the help.

Oh...one other thing I was wondering....Is anyone running a sub with the Triton 2+? I was thinking of a FF5 or if that was too much maybe a 3 or 4. Maybe two 3's? Would any of that be overkill? Sound muddy and inaccurate? Or sound awesomely godlike?

Thoughts?
Upstairs: SuperCinema 3 (SVS SB-2000 though), Denon AVR E-400
Downstairs: Triton 2+, SCXXL, MPX's on the sides, HTR's up top, rears ?? Marantz SR7010, PB-2000

Hi,

I actually use SuperSat 50's for surrounds and Invisa MPX for rears, because that's what worked for my space. As long as you use the right bass management, they all work nicely and all sound pretty much the same, as designed. SuperSat 3s are the most popular for surround/rear duty.

Adding another powered sub to the two Triton Twos is fine, adding additional subs to a room will always help flatten out room bass for a more even experience in many listening positions. I wouldn't suggest anything less than the ForceField 5, your setup and location considerations are simplified by the choice of SuperCenter XXL as you center too. As some users on this forum will tell you, you can never have too many subwoofers. :)

Thanks! What about the mpx for sides, given the wide sound stage I'm reading they produce? Did you try that ?

As I said, "because that's what worked for my space". Hard to try Invisa MPX on the side when I have no side walls. :)
