Hi there, i'm new to this forum...

I know that the supersub x is very new and almost nothing in the review but,

I want to go with the passive triton, so witch of the 5 or 7 will be a better match for this new little sub ? I will probably have 2 of them.

My room is about 12 by 20, 8 feet and im listening 90% movie.

Hope to have an answer,

Have a nice evening everybody.

M

Math,

Welcome to the forum! I'm confident that 2 of the SuperSubX subs will sound great. I would recommend going with the T5s. They have larger mid-range drivers and the balanced crossover technology initially developed for the Triton Ones. To my ear, these are significant upgrades. There is an extra level of detail and clarity with the balanced crossovers. The forum Moderator has spoken highly of the T5 in a home theater setup.

I have only conducted a short audition of the T5s with music and they sound tremendous. I believe it was Mr. Gross that stated he believed a speaker that sounds great for music will also make a great home theater speaker. I believe it was a bit of the foundation theory behind GET and I have to say I concur. All of their speakers excel at both.

If your room and budget allow, I'd go for the SuperCenterXXL for your center channel. This is the most important speaker in a home theater setup and the best place to invest your money. It's always best to demo all of these options first hand to make the decision on what works best for your. A pair of T7s and a SCXL would also be a fantastic grouping. The front 3 speakers are the most vital and the best place to start building your new home theater setup. Let us know what you decide and how things sound.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Hi Math and welcome to the forum!!!!
You will get good advice here like what T. Cobe has given. I agree 100% with what he recommended above.
You really cannot go wrong with GEt speakers. They are all that good. But get the best speakers you can afford, you will be listening to these babies for a VERY long time. There will be no reason to get rid of them.
Let us know what you decide and how it sounds.
Happy listening, God Bless,
Wayne

Since the room isn't too terribly big, if budget is an issue then consider a pair of Triton Fives, the SuperCenter XXL and just one SuperSub X, this would be the best bang for your bucks. You could always add another sub later if you decided it was needed for your room or listening habits.
