Hi Everybody,

I'm currently running a pretty simple 2.0 system, ending in Triton 1s. Now, I'm looking at addressing room modes using EQ. I've done all I can with speaker and listening position, but there are still some noticeable modes left, as you would expect.

I have some expensive Morrow cables, and I don't want to introduce another link in this chain, both for cost and performance reasons. So I'm thinking of a DSP solution that I can run between my Oppo 105 player and the amp. That would imply a magic box with digital input and either digital output (to go to an external DAC/preamp) or an onboard, high quality DAC/preamp with analog out. The DSP box would have a microphone input and be able to construct the appropriate digital filters to flatten the lower frequency room response.

Can anybody recommend a good unit?

The irony here is that the highest end speakers are now starting to have onboard DAC, one even with room correction EQ. So, GET, here's the next big jump for the T1s! Can you do it? You'd have to call them Triton ZERO.

Charlie,

I prefer the name SuperTriton XXL!

www.minidsp.com

Minidsp.com seems to have a number of well regarded solutions. You may find one there. It seems that there is an emerging trend of DSPs on integrated amps. These may offer a future option. Anthem has a model coming out in 2017 that looks promising.

Cheers,

T Cobe
