Maybe a little late to the show but I had to make this decision recently. I've never been satisfied with surround speakers that were low-frequency limited at 80-100hz. I like them to go lower, much lower if possible. In a previous setup I owned all Gallo Acoustics speakers (Ref 3.1 mains) and used A'Diva Ti surrounds. These were Gallo's most expensive little ball speakers. But they just wouldn't play low.

I listened to an ALL SuperSat setup at my dealer and while it is possible it was not set up correctly, I heard the same thing I heard with my A'Divas, very clear, distortion free, articulate sound but it felt like it was lacking impact even with a subwoofer. Maybe the SuperSats were crossed over too low and there was a hole in the frequency response, I don't know. But I made the decision to go with Aon 2 surrounds and they kick butt!!!! There's more bass in the surround channels of modern mixes than you might expect.

+1 from the peanut gallery here in Wisconsin. As I stated earlier, the Aons make great surround speakers for many reasons. Yes, I am biased but it's hard not to be when they sound so good and cost so little!

Cheers,

T Cobe
