Building a new house. Have wife issues regarding speaker placements. New house has a open living room concept. TV will go over the fireplace. Total room size is 26 feet long and 16 feet wide. Listening area facing the fireplace and TV is about 14 feet long and 14 feet wide. Ceilings are 9 feet.

Couch and my chair will be about 13 feet from the TV.

Important: Most content is 80% cable TV and 20% music. We watch very few movies although I do have a BlueRay player.

1. I am forced to deal with ALL ceiling speakers.
2. Center Channel will also be a ceiling speaker.
3. Receiver is an Integra

A. Subwoofer-my thought is the ForceField 4. My wife thinks anything above 15 inches is too big.
a. Will the ForceField 4 work for me in this room and listening area.

B. Ceiling speakers
a. What would you recommend for the Center Channel
b. What would you recommend for the two front-L & R
c. What would you recommend for the rear two speakers.

Appreciate thoughts and suggestions.

Building a new house is a great time to plan and build a media room, or home theater.
I cannot speak to any of the questions you asked, but I am sure some here can.
I can only say, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE get that TV down from over the fireplace and put some Triton Towers in there to make some serious music and movies.
IF you only want to watch TV you don't need much of a sound system.

I wish I could take the TV from above the fireplace. Towers would be great yet it is what it is-happy wife or forever have to deal with it.

Check out the reviews under the Invisa HTR 7000. The AVS forum video should answer all your questions on product selection. From there, I'd strongly suggest working with a professional for placement and installation. You don't have the ability to tweak the placement of in-wall/ceiling speakers so getting it right the first time is more critical.

I think you're definitely in the right place to be looking for this type of solution. GoldenEar seems to take great care in their design of this niche. Many manufacturers seem to ignore in-wall/ceiling speakers while GE uses the same technology from their other lines to keep the same trademark sound and integration. Part of my decision to purchase GE was their in ceiling offerings since I intend to complete my theater with Dolby Atmos. Happy hunting and please keep us posted.

Thanks, to me, the real challenge is: do I spend more for great ceiling speakers considering that most of our listening is Cable content and music. My other option to do is to buy Aperion or HTD celling speakers and a good sub like the ForceField 4, Aperion Bravus or SVS. My take is that I only do this once every 8-10 years so regardless what we listen too, I should do it right. Eight years ago, I bought a Pioneer Elite Plasma and have never looked back. Still can't find a good replacement.

Have you considered one of the Super Cinema sound bars to handle your front L/C/R?

It might be acceptable to your wife and it might help bring the front soundstage down from your ceiling.
