Hi Bignate,
I have not heard the Triton 1s. So my answer will only be a guess.
I love when people start off questions with "if price was not an issue", that for me is like saying "once upon a time". Ha
But I think it is fair to say that integrating subs into a system requires a good surround processor, and good bass management and even then is hard to do. It MIGHT be easier and better because of room nodes and positioning than having the bass come from the front left and right. But that is a big MIGHT!
IMHO, it is much more likely that the subs in the T1s will be MUCH better integrated and will therefore make better music than having separate subs.
My vote would be for the T1s. BUT IF, like me, you really crave deep bass and IF, very UNLIKE me, price is not an issue, then you still might want to have a sub or two in the room, at least for movies.
I am just dreaming here.
Whatever you do, pls let us know, sounds like you will have an awesome system. BUT I would think the Yamaha will quickly become the weak link in your system, I think the GE speakers can use a MUCH better pre-pro and amp setup--speaking in purely audiophile terms. Not denigrating the Yamaha at all, sorry if it sounds like I am.
Happy listening,
God Bless,
Wayne
