Hi all

New to the forum and want to hear some opinions from folks who are using T2s/T7s with a 7 channel amp.

Im in the process of building my new HT which will be used for:

gaming 35%
movies 35%
lossless music 30% (mainly classic rock)

room size 20x17x8

After EXHAUSTIVE research ive decided to pass on getting an intergrated system, mainly due to new technology that has yet settle(Atmos,HDMI 2.0,HDCP 2.2) so I want to avoid buying a 2014 unit that will become obsolete by this time next year.

Instead ive decided to do a basic system consisting of

OPPO 105D as my A/V center piece
PS3+PS4 for gaming
GE T2s or T7s+ sub(or T1s if I can hear them and justify the cost) and GE center and surrounds

Now I need to get some thoughts here on a 7 channel amp.My knowledge of separates is limited admittedly, but from what Ive read the amps Im interested in thus far are

NAD M25
Sunfire TGA-7401
Emotiva UPA-700

Can anyone offer advice on what ive mentioned,and/or suggest another amp im possibly over looking?

Hey monsterzero:

All the amps you're considering are fine choices. May I make another suggestion... a five channel and two channel amp. Emotiva makes some great amps. A good choice would be a xpa-5 (5 channel) and xpa-2 (2 channel). The xpa-2 is bridgeable...can be used as a stereo amp or in a monoblock setup. Other forum members are using Emotiva amps and can attest to their spectacular performance.
Check out their E-Club ($49 a year) entitles you to 10% off on every order (20% off until July 31) plus many other benefits. After savings the xpa-5 would be $799.00 and xpa-2 $720.00...not bad. They also offer a 30 day money back guarantee.

Let us know which amps you choose and also your speaker selection... all the best to you
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Hi Monsterzero, and welcome to the forum, to the club!!!!
I cannot really answer your questions, but I can say that you are REALLY on the right track!!!!
You can't go wrong with the Triton 2s or 7s. They are awesome!!!! I have just found out to my shock/surprise, you don't have to have subs with the Triton 7s in some situations.
And they are easy to drive, you will not need a lot of power to drive them well.
I mean, get power, just doesn't have to be killer power. Quality over quantity sort of thing.
You have put some great thought into this, good plan, you will be happy no matter what you choose!!!!
Remember to enjoy the ride, and the music, and movies, games, enjoy it all.
God Bless, Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.
