I've got a big screen and need to wall mount stuff. Was thinking of 3 horizontal SS50 along bottom with vertical SS50s as surrounds.

OR, Aon 3s on Omnimounts. What are the tradeoffs with each approach??

No trade offs really. The Aon will allow a lower crossover frequency to the sub, giving you more subwoofer placement options. The Aons are of course much larger and will be hanging off the wall, vs. the low profile on the wall aesthetic you get with the SuperSats. (Horizontal model is the SuperSat 50C.)

with the A3 hanging off wall, wouldn't there be an increase in imaging and less front wall interference/reverb??

i am concerned about using wall mounted "bar" type speakers with high crossover, might sound "thinner" than omnimounted bookshelf's?

To the first question, that would not be the most significant difference as SuperSats are designed to be wall mounted. The second is simply incorrect, subwoofer covers the frequencies to the higher crossover, overall frequency balance should be identical.
