Hello:
I was using the ERA D5's with my Peachtree Nova and I was very happy. Than 2 weeks ago I stopped in The Little Guys in Mokena and listened to the Aon 3's, Went home and posted my D5's on Audiogon, sold them yesterday morning! Picked up my Aon 3's last night on the way home! Love them, OMG, the sound is only going to get better as they loosen up! I'm a huge fan, met Sandy last year at the Music Matters hosted by the Little Guys. I was very impressed with the Triton towers, (my next upgrade).
Couldn't be happier!

Yes you are right the Aon 3s have destroyed anything ive heard in the price range. There money was definitly put into the performance and not a whole lot on the pretty side. For me personally I still didnt hit the base level I was looking for in my room so I added an SVS pbs-12 behined it and couldnt be happyier. I use the older nova and havent needed any more power. Just for kicks i put them on my larger 185.5 amp in my living room and didnt notice much difference.

What, you don't think they're pretty? :cheer: My wife actually likes their look, but you're right, the $$ all went into making sure they sound pretty.

I was using Polk LSI 9's/ 7's before i got these and they have more pronounced bass, however its much more muddy sounding then these. The polks however did have much nicer cosmetics. There wood finish is great, the gloss black finish on them is nicer, and most notably they have way better binding posts then the ones used on Aon's. If I were a betting man the tweeter is the most expencive part of this whole speaker. I had to pull back those grills and take a peek at them. When i did that the wood under the grills is pretty scary looking. All in all the Aon's are still my pick, i didnt buy them for looks I bought them for clarity. They destroy all the many brands ive had in the past.

I agree, my ERA D5's in Rosewood were way better looking, but the Aon 3's just sound so much better! Much easier to listen for extended period's of time.
