Question. Source is Oppo UDP-203 7 Channel Analogue out to Nuforce MCP18 7.1 Channel multichannel preamp then 7 Channels to Monoprice Monolith 7 Channel Amp. and the .1 LFE channel directly from preamp to Triton One.
The Nuforce also has a Stereo Input with which I have an Auralic Aries Mini connected.
When I Use the stereo input on the Preamp its just 2 channel and no signal is being sent to the LFE connection to the Trition. Will the Trition ignore the LFE and take the low end from the stereo speaker connection despite the subwoofer cable connection being present???
Thx
Samir

Samir,
Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you have a great setup. In answer to your question, the T1s will reproduce whatever you feed them. If you are only sending signal through your speaker level inputs and the signal is full range, it will play back all of that signal faithfully. If nothing is coming through on the LFE, than it will not interfere.
Just make sure you're checking the settings and features on your pre-amp. My pre-amp always sends bass below the cutoff frequency through the LFE output. It is not defeatable. Check out the manual on your NuForce. Good luck getting your system dialed in and let us know if you have any other questions.
Cheers,
T Cobe

Hi, Samir
Welcome!
Re LFE connections, only .1/LFE channel signals will take that route to the Tritons, unless the Tritons are set as small, sub on, and then all frequencies under the crossover would also be directed to that channel. With the Tritons set as large, full range (the recommended setting), then any/all non LFE signals/frequencies directed to those speakers will go to, and be played by, the Tritons via the speaker cables. The presence of the LFE connection does not in any way interfere with the routing of non LFE signals or how the Tritons handle them. I.E. in 2 channel play mode with speakers set as large, full range, the LFE channel is inactive, with or without a LFE connection present, and plays no role in how speaker cable input is being handled by the Tritons, including the bass frequencies.
Happy New Year, and enjoy those wonderful speakers!
Rick

Samir,
Both Rick and T. Cobe are correct -- with one possible exception. If your equipment has a "Double Bass" or some similar setting option, then it is possible to set the Triton Ones to Full Range (or Large) and to simultaneously feed low-frequency signals to the LFE inputs.
Best advice: Review the manuals for all your gear to determine what setup options you have and how they affect the signals being supplied to the Tritons under various setting options.
Have fun and enjoy.

Given the fact that setting Triton's to large (full range) from the Oppo is ideal for two channel and that I only have two channel (2xT1's), might it be preferable when watching certain movies to set the Oppo to something other than large full range in order to purposefully send (or try and send) output to the LFE channel?
In other words, could there be an acoustical advantage to making an LFE connection to the T1 (in addition to regular speaker connections) and toggle the oppo setting to large full range when listening to two channel from the Oppo (say a music concert video) and then changing the setting to something else when watching a movie that utilizes bass effect (say a star wars film)? If yes, what would that setting be?
Thanks, as a UDP-205 is on the horizon....
