You would set your SC XL to small (somewhere around 80 for the crossover) and let the rest of the sound lower than that go to the subwoofer. And if you are running it with T 5s or T 7s I would do the same, set them to small and 80 as well. Let the speakers handle what they do best and let the subwoofer do what it does best. That gives the speakers more "headroom" room to play or power to play the higher notes and more clarity as they are not trying to do something hard for them, play bass.
Don't get me wrong, the T 5s or T 7s can play bass, but they do not have a built in amp and bass section. And you have or are looking at a good subwoofer that is well capable to handle the bass.
Before you were asking about the T 7s, are you changing your mind and thinking now about the T 5s? I would, I would HIGHLY recommend the T 5s over the T 7s, they will give you more of everything.
You may have and enjoy these speakers for a very long time, if not for your life, so get the best you can afford.
Hope this helps,
God Bless,
Wayne

Yeah Wayne after reading multiple threads it sound alike the 5s r worth the extra money now my only dilemma is do I run with my room setup 5.1 , 7.1 or 5.1.2 that's where I'm confused and where exactly to place the speakers in my room .. also if getting a Yamaha 2070 or Marantz 6012 will make a difference what brand I get or some say go for the model below and hook the the left n right speakers to Emotiva 300 to provide more head room to fronts it can all be confusing and there's alot of discussions and people's opinion differ on what's right and what's wrong and what sounds better or not

Well yeah Supered17, lots of opinions out there, and some like one thing, some another.
Ultimately it is up to you.
5.1 is probably your simplest setup, less expensive and less trouble. AND you can always add to it to go to 7.1 by adding rear speakers or go ATMOS by adding higher speakers (I will not address this because I have 0 interest in ATMOS and 0 knowledge about it).
I can say that MOST blu ray movies these days are finally coming out in 7.1 so that may well be worth investing in the rear speakers. Until very recently there were not that many that included the rear channels.
You will have to decide which way you want to go, how many speakers, and then their positions will pretty much be wherever is the best place you can put them in your space. The thing is, there are really just better and worse positions, but none are that bad if you get them dialed in correctly.
On another thread you asked about room correction. Audyssey is pretty much crap. BUT the more expensive (6012) Marantz does have a better and more expensive version of Audyssey, XT or something, that allows you more flexibility to get room correction right, I THINK.
Most importantly get the subwoofer location correct and you will probably not need room correction. But that also takes time and trouble experimenting to get it right.
Home theater is not brain surgery, but you can get a LOT better results by reading up like you are now, asking questions, and experimentation.
Have fun with it all,
God Bless,
Wayne

Agreed I will have a huge rug in the area and the sub is limited where it can go it can wither go next to the center console and the fronts left and right to the outside of the sub or I can put sub at corner wall placement on that same wall with front left and right speakers to the inside closer to media console but still spread out wide enough
