I was going to go with the 12 gauge (unless that overkill) as I have to wire a 7.1 system and have two external house speakers. Any thoughts as their 250 and 500ft rolls are very reasonable.

Lots of satisfied customers are using monoprice speaker wire...don't have to spend a fortune for great sound...like Moderator said, 12 gauge will work just fine.
