So I have visited a local dealer that had the invisa MPX speakers as front L/R and they sounded wonderful! I have been reading more on the HTR 7000 and it seems that everyone that uses them is very pleased with them so I am now considering them as L/R. So my planned set up options are MPX in-wall as L/R or HTR 7000 as L/R. Ceilings are 10 ft in height and seating area is 8-9 ft from front. My concern is that the seating is not far back enough for ideal sound with the HTR 7000. I plan on using a supersat 50c as a center below TV (sony 65") and HTR 7000 for surround rear on a 5.x.x. This is an open area and not a dedicated home theatre room.
Will the HTR 7000 be ideal as L/R? or should i go with in-wall MPX?

While the 7000 will do well as ceiling L/R in your system, as you surmised, you'd need to be more like 15' back from them to be closer to ideal. So, the MPX or SPS (if you have the space and can bend the budget) in-wall for your front L & R might work better.

Ok, so one more question. Do you recommend the mpx or invisa 650s for the rear surrounds? I would not have 15 feet to the back of the seating area either so may be an issue with the HTR 7000. IF the mpx, what is the orientation of the speaker? perpendicular or parallel (lengthwise) of the speaker to the seating area?

The MPX will likely be better, assuming it is mounted in the rear or side wall. Vertical orientation will work well.

Thank you for all of the information. Unfortunately it would have to be ceiling mounted so I'm going to go with the 650's. I appreciate all of the information!
