The Jay, When using the Invisa MPXs as your side surrounds, you wouldn't normally need to setup 4 x side surround speakers. (Using two Invisa MPXs as your side surrounds would produce a great balance of focus sound and spaciousness all around the listeners.)

Next, most amplifiers/receivers would not be comfortable driving 4 x side surrounds simultaneously. (The net impedance of two pair of Invisa speakers would be in the 3 ohm range, and most receivers/amplifiers would not be comfortable driving a 3 ohm load.) You could, however, install 4 x Invisa MPXs as your side surrounds - and install a switch to select which pair of Invisa MPXs play. Happy Listening!

Waaaiiitt...wait wait wait wait wait....can you explain that whole thing with the ohms?
It's an Outlaw 5000 120w/RMS @ 8 ohms. 180wRMS into 4 ohms...all channels driven.
The MPXs call for 10-250 @ 4ohms...nest pas?

Now I definitely am putting a switch on the two pairs so I can enjoy either row. But ummm, that wouldn't be enough juice if I turned them all up together? Just for kicks?

The Jay, The Invisa MPX speakers have an average impedance of 4-6 ohms....(The impedance of any speaker is a variable function and varies with what the frequencies the speaker is trying to reproduce.) This isn't a concern for the vast majority of applications or amplifiers/receivers on the market.

However, when you connect two pairs of speakers in parallel (to the same speaker outputs on an amplifier/receiver) - and play them together, the impedance seen by the amplifier/receiver halves. In this case, your amplifier will "see" an impedance of 2-3 ohms. (This draws a lot more current from any amplifier - and some amplifiers are comfortable with this impedance load, while others are not.) I would recommend contacting the manufacturer of your amplifier to see if your specific model is comfortable driving a 2-3 ohm load.
