Hi, My current room layout is 15x15 with 10-8 inch foot vaulted ceilings now the living room is open to the kitchen and I do have a back rear wall about 8 feet from the listening position.. My rears I can put close to ear level directly behind the couch at 8 feet away .. I can either go with htr7000 and put them in wall spread out a little wider than the couch listening position at close to ear level at about 8-10 feet away max or I can go in ceiling with my surrounds and put them over head spread out just a hair behind the listening position at about 12 feet away ?? thats for a 5.1 setup
now for a 5.1.2 setup would the 650 go in ceiling for atmos a hair in front and too the sides of listening position at about 12 feet and the 750 in wall at about 8-10 directly behind..

Hi - hard to wrap my head around all you told us about the room. Have you asked a local GoldenEar dealer to come take a look at the room with you? If possible, that's your best bet.

You mentioned In-wall rears 8' behind at ear level - but you also mention 5.1 and 5.1.2, neither of which have rears, just surrounds. (Surrounds 8' behind the listening area and appropriately far apart is actually a fine setup for surround channels in an 5 channel Atmos setup). Vaulted ceilings are also an issue for understanding placement, very hard to do without being in the room.

ok basically im on the fence and unsure if I want to do a simple 5.1 setup in which the surrounds would have to be in wall behind the listening area about 8 feet from the listening area and close to ear level .. or I can put the surrounds in ceiling just behind and spread out from listening position if thats better .. or I can go with a 5.1.2 where the atmos speakers will go a foot to the front of listening area in ceiling and spread out and the surround/rear can go towards the back corner of the room in wall or in ceiling as i have no option to put them in brackets on mounts to the corners .. I have not contacted my Golden Ear dealer yet, I do have pictures and layouts of my room though

I was actually told by a dealer to use for Atmos the 650 and for rear surrounds the mpx and a Marantz 6012 AVR
