Hi,
I recently purchased three GoldenEar Invisa HTR-7000's for use as the LCR in my living room, should be installing them later this week, and was hoping for some advice regarding placement, details as follows:
1. Ceilings are 9 feet high, with the main listening position 11.5-12 feet from the TV, which is wall mounted above the fireplace, with the base of the TV about 4.5" above the ground
2. The rear speakers are already installed and are about 11.5-12 feet apart, so front left and right would likely also be about 11.5-12 feet apart
I have two spots where I can place the LCR speakers:
A. About 10 feet from the main listening position, which is fairly close to the wall with the TV on it, or
B. About 8.5 feet from the main listening position
I have some lights I'm working around that prevent me from using intermediate distances (e.g. 9 feet from main LP). Which position will provide a better sound stage, A or B?
Also, do I need to be concerned with position A being too close to the wall with the TV? The fireplace sticks out a bit, meaning the center channel would likely be 1 - 1.5 feet from the wall. Hopefully the directional nature of the HTR 7000s make this a non-issue.
Thanks.
Paul
