So we have a Supersat 50 / Supersat 50c based system, paired with a Forcefield 4, in our great room for an absolutely superb 5.1 system. I couldn't be happier. The boss (a.k.a. my wife) sees an improvement opportunity.

I'll be relocating the Supersat 50 / Supersat 50C combination to another room (#1stworldproblems) and want to get Invisa's in walls to replace them. The Forcefield 4 will remain (Thinking of getting a Forcefield 5 for the other room). This will allow us to color match the grills to the walls, and enable her decor to flow more freely, so to speak.

But my question: How is the MPX as a center channel? The angle of the drivers has me asking the question. I know you have a whole "system" made up of MPX speakers, but wanted a few thoughts on its use. Any compromises coming from the Supersat 50c

MPX is great as a center speaker, just don't turn it sideways. All three will need to be vertical - makes a spectacular LCR setup, BTW.

Hmmm. It may be too tall to go under the TV. I'll have to measure.

Can the 650 be used as an alternative?

How about above the TV? - or else put a 50C or 60C on top of (or under) the TV and just do the MPX as L/R?

Yes, 650 is fine, not quite the same as an MPX though in terms of power handling and dispersion. 650's are really distributed audio and effects (rear/surround/height) channels speakers, not L/C/R mains.

No room above the TV unfortunately, and only 11.5 inches below the TV. I have a SuperSat 50C there today, and it is the prime target of my wife's angst.

I'm trying to see if I can wedge it in there and have the TV not cover the top driver or only minimally.

Product suggestion An MPX that is horizontally mountable, for us in center channel duty. and MPXc, as it were.

Have you considered attaching the 50C center speaker to the TV? There are universal brackets that allow the speaker to actually become a part of the TV structure. This works if stand mounted or wall mounted. You could go with the bigger 60C if that was a better match to the width of the TV too, to make it even more invisible. Otherwise, how about an HTR 7000 in-ceiling for the center?
