Hey guys, was wondering if anyone is using a speaker enclosure for their Invisa speakers for an in-ceiling application? How does it sound?

Does GoldenEar sell these enclosures/boxes, or do we have to buy third party?

I have to use them because of my ceiling structure type ...

It is common to use a back box when the sound is trying to be prevented from leaking into another room (typically the room above when installing in-ceiling speakers). There are many aftermarket choices, but one of our favorites is the Dynabox, which can even be installed after the drywall is up because it is a flexible material and does a great job of insulating the sound, especially lower frequency transmissions. Just make sure to use a box of adequate size to not restrict the speaker's bass performance.

In my case, i am planning on using a stretch ceiling (with sound absorbing material above it) - therefore to have adequate bass I am assuming i should use a speaker enclosure? Does a speaker enclosure deteriorate the sound in any way? Thx

As I said, a speaker enclosure is to prevent sound from escaping into another living area and that is the only reason it would be needed. As long as the enclosure is large enough it will not negatively affect the sound.

Hi
Being new to this site I have a followup question:

What is a "good size" for a backbox?

Thanks in advance ;)

Depends on the model, but generally .5 to 1.5 cu feet is enough.
