My current setup is Triton 7's with the SuperCenter XL and SuperStat 3's for the rear.

I also have a HSU VTF-3 MK4 Sub. The sub is connected to a Behringer Feedback Destroyer Pro FBQ2496; I've used a calibrated mic and REW to tame some of the peaks and dips.

It's all running through an Integra DTR 70.6 receiver.

The room is 20 ft x 20 ft with slopped open beam ceiling (13 ft to the top center beam). We currently sit 13 ft back from the center channel.

We use this for 99% HT use.

So here is my question; what would I gain from swapping the 7's for the original 2's?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi, SoCal Yogi

Since you have a sub, you're probably running the current T7 fronts as small with a crossover in the 60 HZ + or - range, sub on, so the sub is doing all the LFE duty?

Switching to powered T2's as fronts, you could run them as large, with LFE leads, sub still on, and get in effect three subs working for better bass heft and distribution. I would say the T2's would be a great step up with their 1200 watt amps adding to the HT effects!!

T2’s will give you better bass distribution across the entire room (even when the sub is in play) and more of what I like to call “effortless sound quality” from the tritons. I made this move myself, and now use my T7’s as surround side speakers.
Triton Two front L/R
SuperSat 50c center
Triton Seven surround L/R
SuperSat 50 surround rear L/R
AVR Arcam AVR-21
Amp Marantz mm7025
Velodyne optimum 10” sealed, back left corner
SuperSub X front-right corner
