Hi everyone.

Any opinions out there on Anthem amplifiers, especially the A5? I plan on using my dual PB2000 subs for my low end and was wondering if the 225 watt * 5 rating be overkill. I plan on mating it with the triton fives or sevens.
Play it loud.

Great amp, and there's no such thing as too much power (like horsepower, as long as the operator is competent).

Anthem makes great amps. I don't think you could go wrong with the A5, I heard it in Wichita Kansas, they paired with an Statement P2, speakers were Paradigm Signature...sounded butt-kickin'. The price of their products has gone through the roof in the past couple of years. A few years back I picked up an Anthem Statement P2, at that time the retail was $3000...today $4500...wow. You might consider checking out the MCA-50. I own one, it's a great amp with plenty of power, and you could save $800.00.

Whatever you choose, Anthem will deliver the goods.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

I'm also looking for 200-300w multiple-channel amplifier, even though the TTs are partially powered and I have powered subwoofers. I will be doing 11-channels at some point with Dolby Atmos and DTS-X, when those are more readily available.

Knowing you have enough power for any situation is a good thing. I don't think there's a such thing as too much power. Just be sure you have enough electricity at the wall for everything :)
