Hi Grocerylist,
I auditioned a LOT of speakers before buying my Triton 2s (and 3s and 7s), some were in the $10,000 and some in the $20,000 range (hey, they didn't know I wasn't gonna buy, I carry myself like I have money, ha ha). And believe me I would buy the T2s over all of them!!!! OK, I did hear some pretty sweet sounding Wilsons but I don't have that kind of money. I auditioned some Magico speakers in a room that was so heavily treated and tweaked, the system cost more than my house, and I have no intention of trashing their speakers or that system, but my T 2s sound WAY better!!!!!
I would go with the T2s and save later for a sub IF you think you need to add one. Unless you can swing the Triton Ones.
I hope this helps, happy listening, God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.

Grocerylist,

I just wrote Mark, and he said you should just give him a ring before coming down so he can build up the room any way you want and have the alternative speakers ready for swap out for you to make any decisions you need to make.

Not to step on any toes here, but we really strongly recommend that you buy from your local dealer. If you have any issues after purchase you will have to travel back to the selling dealer for support. If you need help during setup your dealer will be a long way away, too far to come over and help. We had suggested you contact the owner at the store in Seattle (we can do it for you if you'd like), they have every Triton model on the floor for demo and a nice selection of associated equipment.

LOL...that was my first response earlier in the thread to just tell them to get their &#$* together. :)

Thanks Moderator for your input but as I stated before Definitive Audio in Seattle only had the T7 in their demo room, said the Bellevue location had the T3 but I didn't get the right warm & fuzzy feeling after talking with them. I had asked about FF5 subwoofer (which he didn't have) but he was strongly recommending that if I spent a little more ($1500) for the JL Audio E110, that it'd be worth it.

I kind of felt like since I wasn't making a $25k+ purchase that I wasn't really worth their time. I won't be forced into spending such a large amount of money (for me) at a dealer where I didn't feel like my best interests were being considered, regardless of if they're the only GoldenEar dealer in Seattle. The Portland dealer recommendation from Roman is important to me, Portland isn't that far from Seattle and as a bonus I'll save near $700 in taxes by purchasing everything in Oregon.

I completely understand, and we apologize as a company for your bad experience. There's simply no excuse for this. I have notified the regional sales director in the area of this account so he is aware of your reported bad experience.
