Hi Guys,

I would like to upgrade my current receiver. I am using a Yamaha RX-A2000 with my Triton 2. I will stick with a AVR as it is being used in a home theater system. I want something that is musically sound as I listen to my music in 2 channel. I was looking at the
Arcam FMJ AVR450. I am open to suggestions. What are you guys running with your Tritons.

Thanks man,
Cheers.

Hi Fried One,
I have fried one or two my own self, so I like your name.
I have never heard the Arcam and had to look up reviews on it. Seems it is quite expensive for what you get.
I run my Triton 2s and a whole surround sound system with a Marantz AV 7005 processor with separate amps.
For the price of that Arcam you could get an even better processor than I have, the AV 8801, AND get their MM7055 five channel amp to go with it. This combo would give you LOTS of future proofing and options, and IMHO probably better sound as it would have more power.
You will have LOTS of great options to drive the Triton 2s as they are easy to power with their built in subs. Go for quality, the Triton 2s will reward you with GREAT sound!!!!
Enjoy and tell us what you decided?
And how it sounds?
God Bless,
Wayne

Here is a link to the 2013 Stereophile recommended surround sound components for the Marantz pre-pro and multi channel amp.

www.stereophile.com/content/2013-recomme...und-sound-components

They are not the best, but they are WAY better than most AVRs, IMHO.
Blessings,
Wayne

Wayne makes some excellent points, I think you will be much, much happier with separates...I like his way of thinking. ;)
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

The Arcam is excellent sounding, high on our list (we even used one at a trade show demo one year). The Anthem and NAD receivers are also high on the list for sound quality (we've used them both), along with Marantz, Pioneer Elite and Integra.

Hi Wayne,
Thank you for your time in responding to my post. I did think that it was priced a little high. There seem to be no bells and or whistles with it. I was guessing that it must be for the sound. I do like quality sound. Running separates does sound enticing. I will look up what you recommended. I'm loving my Triton 2's and now that I had demo'd the Triton One's it's definitely thrown a wrench in the works. I am also looking at Cambridge Audio's Stream Magic 6 V2. It is a network player. It has gotten great reviews as it up samples all incoming channels to 24 bit /196-384 Khz. It cleans up all digital signals. Just mentioning it as a matter of interest.
I will continue on my quest for the AVR/Amp as it will probably be an Xmas treat to myself.
Thanks man,
Cheers.
