I have got T2 with SS5 center, SS 3 sourounrd for about one month.

It looks like I could not buy a whole set of Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 or 5.1.6 system in once.

Base on my research, Emotiva XPA gen3 would be the best Amplifier for the performance and budget .

Now XPA-11 Gen3 has same price with XPA-7 Gen3. I only need XPA-5 now.

Should I buy XPA-11 Gen3 ? how would it be?

Or should I just buy A XPA-5?

The reason I ask questions is budget, I have no budget to buy one then upgrade soon. So I will buy a separated amp, then I would keep using it for years, amps are pretty stable, no big new technology keep coming out.

Any suggestions?

Good question Palmer, but the answer really is up to you.
I think it depends on how serious you are about adding ATMOS and those other channels?
I can say that with a good quality amp, like Emotiva, it is OK to buy more channels than you need, and not use them right now. You can only play the ones you need and leave the others unused.
Whatever you decide, stay with GEt speakers and then the sound will be the same all around.

Hi,
I have an 11.2 Atmos speaker system and use a Emotiva XPA-5 amp. I use a basX A-700 amp to drive all my "effects" speakers.
My personal preference was to get more power for the main 5 channel speakers and didn't need as much power for the effects speakers. I has worked out very well and saved me a lot of money not having to pay for larger amps that I will never use with the smaller speakers. The A-700 has more than enough power for the effects channels.
Just a thought for your consideration.
Good luck - Rich
