Would like to take this one step further. Some of you may find this commentary interesting or at a minimum may spark some further discussion as it relates to the bass control.

While I cannot be 100% sure, I imagine the bass control on the powered Triton's is a potentiometer, varistor, or something similar. Those electric parts come in varying degrees of quality. It is my opinion that regardless of the actual electric component used to vary the bass level and regardless of the quality of that component, it is a worthwhile maintenance item to turn the dial fully clockwise and counterclockwise every so often. Every six months or so should be sufficient. I think leaving the dial in the 12 o'clock position indefinitely aids in the "corrosion" of the contacts at that point.

Furthermore, and I think we are still on topic, I would recommend the same thing for amplifiers, stand-alone equalizers, volume controls, switches or whatever. I think its generally a good idea to "move" or "engage and disengage" these parts every so often.
