I just bought the Triton 2 plus, along with the Super Center X and Aon 2 for my home system. I have an Anthem MRX 720 receiver that has the ARC room correction system.
I hooked up the Triton 2s with both speaker wire and the RCA for the LFE/Sub out from the receiver. With the Anthem you do not pick “Large or Small Speaker”. You just tell it if you have a Sub and the configuration of 5.x, or 7.x or 11.x and then run the ARC process.
Do you think this is the best way to set up? I listen to a lot of two channel music and want that to be maximized. If I lost a little BOOM during a movie it would not kill me.
Any thoughts or inputs?

Jim

The Triton Two L/R Main speakers must be set as full range/no crossover in your ARC setup screen. It is also highly recommended that you do NOT use the automated process but instead run ARC manually to verify settings and also to insure the default ARC limit is reduced from 5000 Hz to 500 Hz. Consult your dealer, the owners manual, and Sandy's setup tips on our support page, for more help.

Jim,

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the great setup! You're well on you're way towards great sound. Just a little fine tuning and some patience now.

During the ARC process, you have the opportunity to set the crossover frequencies for each speaker. Make sure you set the T2+s to full range or flat, and all other speakers to 80 Hz. If you have nulls or other acoustic issues in your room, sometimes ARC sets some strange crossover frequencies. As Moderator Dude said, you can adjust the frequency at which to stop correcting room acoustics. 500 Hz is a great place to start depending again on any issues you may be having. I have a number of issues in my room and have settled on correcting up to 2,000 Hz, but I plan to go back and play with placement and rerun ARC.

Don't worry about boomy sound. ARC does a great job cleaning up the low frequencies. You can play around with the settings a great deal and change the play back mode for music. Your Tritons and Anthem AVR give you a great deal of flexibility. Keep at it until you get things where you like them. It shouldn't take too long. Your dealer will probably be a great resource to talk you through some of this if you run into additional challenges. Good luck and let us know if we can answer any more questions.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Thanks, I will give that a try.
I love the speakers, they are such an upgrade from my old KEFs

Thanks T Cobe!

I have had the MRX720 since spring and really only used the automated ARC process. I will look at the manual process later this week.

I only have about 8 hours of listening to the new speakers and making adjustment, and I love them now! I can not wait to get them broken in and dialed in. I missed the second half of the Alabama -Clemson game because I lost track of the time rediscovering my music collection on the new equipment.

I feel a bit like a pimp posting this again but I have a couple ARC videos I've made and posted to my YouTube channel. This includes overriding the default ARC setting of crossing over your Tritons as well as how to override the max EQ frequency from 5000 to 500Hz.

As far as "boom" for music vs. movies, you can create two profiles in ARC and those can be set as the default for different inputs.
