Hi All,

I love my Triton 1. I started with Triton one and after lot of readings and research, i purchased a Line Magnetic 219 IA amp from used market and the pair is awesome... now, the one final pending item is the DAC.. I am currently using Bell Canto C5i - it's an integrated amp with built in DAC and i am using it as a DAC only... so this the dac in my system now...

I am fully satisfied with my speakers and LM 219 amp.. same components Sandy Gross (founder of Golden ear) uses in his setup...

With this setup, my system sounds awesome... without going into lot of typical words, I will quote what my wife said about the music from the system ..."pleasant to listen, clean and not congested"

Now, I thought adding a better DAC might take this setup to next level and probably my last purchase for next few years..

I am thinking something from below list of great DAC's from used market

Schiit Yggdrasil
PS audio DS DAC
Berkeley Alpha
Biscarti M1
Bel Canto DAC 3.5 vb ii

If anyone have a similar system as mine, please share your thoughts...

Thank you all.

Sundaram,

The Yggdrasil is supposed to be an amazing DAC. I'm sure you will like it and I look forward to your report. I haven't dipped too much into DACs and digital media. I'm still stuck spinning CDs and records the old fashioned way; however, if I purchased a DAC, I think Inwould want some sort of streaming capabilities... I think this is where the Schiit falls short. My local dealer streams directly from a tablet to their 2-channel setup and it sounds amazing! I may have to query them on their setup.

Cheers,

T Cobe

Thanks T Cobe for your thoughts. I agree with you about streaming but i already own a music server so i guess i am good. Eagerly waiting for the Dac to come in.

By the way, i posted a question about using 4 ohm or 8 ohm on Golden ear Facebook page and I ended up getting a personal e-mail and also a phone call from Sandy himself. Can you believe this? This type of care and gesture from Sandy is unbelievable for his stature. Big Salute to him. He shared his thoughts and answered my questions and gave me some tips. Amazing person!

Thanks,
Sundar N.

Sundar,

Thanks for the follow up. Mr. Gross and GET go way above and beyond. There are many accounts on the forum of Mr. Gross calling customers himself. I had a question regarding a GET product one evening and called GET customer service expecting to leave a message. Well, I got a live person who said someone would call me back shortly with an answer and sure enough, it was Mr. Gross himself. It was about 8:00 PM Eastern time. As you stated, it's unbelievable the he, himself, would take that much time and care to insure customer satisfaction. That passion and level of commitment seems to trickle down to the rest of the company.

I'll look forward to hearing your impression on the Schiit DAC. I've been thinking about getting a music server setup. What are you using?

Cheers,

T Cobe

Hey, T Cobe

I consider you one of the of the most "squared away" persons. I admire the options you've chosen in bringing music to your system.

Regarding HD streaming, there are lot of choices.. DEEZER Elite (via SONOS), PONOS , TIDAL, etc. I use DEEZER Elite. Yes, there's a charge, but compared to the cost of purchasing all the music I want to hear/sample, I 'll take the DEEZER option. I can access most any CD or song, make playlists..

Your choice. But, the world of music IS available through streaming.

Keep on with your quest of the best!

Someday we all need to listen to each other's systems and music choices.

Happy listening!
