I found a used pair of Triton Ones for sale. I drove over 600 miles to get them, took a big risk, but I think it paid off. The only issues with them are that both grills have dents in them and one sock cloth is ripped in two places, very small. Otherwise, they are like-new in every other way that I can tell. I mean not a scratch on them, and beneath the socks, the amp back plates, etc. - they look absolutely perfect. And they sound like everything is fully intact.
Now, I haven't set them up properly, but I did listen to some music after I swapped out my T2s with these T1s. My initial reactions are:
1.) They sound a little bit cleaner
2.) They sound like they have a little more edge (maybe crispiness is the right term, or maybe it's accurracy)
3.) They sound like they are a little fuller, a little bigger
4.) They appear to have more bass, or maybe the bass is a tad tighter
Notice I'm using the words "little" here because I cannot quite place my finger on it exactly, and I'm not exactly doing a fair comparison, even though I have both T1 and T2s now in my possession. The T1s/T2s are not setup for A/B testing. and I have zero room treatments, which is probably not the best for these.
Needless to say, I think I will keep the T1s and then sell the T2s. I mean how could I not?
