Sorry, wasn't real clear in my first post, I do also hear the distortion during these specific scenes at any volume level. And I should be clear the distortion I hear is very very slight.

My wife does not hear this issue when I replay the scenes for her, she thinks I am crazy, and she may be right lol.

I will note a few specific scenes when I have time and take them to my dealer to see if they sound any different. If I do not hear the slight distortion with the dealer setup I will have to keep trouble shooting my setup. If I do hear the distortion at the dealer, well it would be obvious to me it is just the recordings.

Splash wrote:. This album was downloaded from HDTracks in WAV format so it should be a clean recording. Clean maybe but not perfect. How many jazz, rock, etc. reviews have you seen or heard that are absolute reference quality. Look at Stereophile and The Absolute Sound, very, very, rarely will you find a recording that's absolutely perfect...most have some slight imperfections. "So What" on YouTube sounds odd at the 54 second mark, but other than that I really didn't notice anything...at times trumpets and especially the muted trumpet can sound edgy, the sax included. I for one, pardon my french, ain't gonna lose any sleep over it.

Man, Bro Anthem, your French is SHOCKING!!!!
But quite right, there are bad things on lots of recordings and you guys should be happy to have speakers that are resolving enough to hear them!!!! Your post should be, WOW my speakers are sooooo great, I can hear crud on a Miles Davis recording that everyone but Wayne thinks is a great album!!!!!
Enjoy the tunes, AND your great speakers!!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Hi all, as we all suspected the "distortion sound" I hear is NOT the speakers or anything else in my system. I was at my GE dealer today to pick up some more SS3's and took the track I was hearing this on with me(they already had it on their NAS). We listened to T1's T2's 7's and a PSB tower. The odd sound is on the original recording. This exercise exemplifies how accurate the Triton series speakers really are!! I took the opportunity to side by side the T1's with the PSB I think it was aT3. The T1's are better!!

Enjoy!!

Listen to the opening of Freddie Freeloader on Kind of Blue. Is that the distortion you're hearing? I hear it with all my speakers and amps, more so on some, less on others.

Yes that's it. Its in the track in several places. It might be the way the horn is being played? It is not any of the system component's.
