So I have an XL that sit on a bottom shelf that I need to point up to ear level. It has to be there due to a screen coming down and covering the upper shelves. The problem is the feet are loose in the brass insert. There is too much difference in the hole size of the insert vz the thread of the rubber foot. This is a design flaw in my opinion.....they should have been tighter in there. (this is an issue with the 5's I have but at least there is a nut to tighten) So with how short the rubber foot shaft is, you can't really put a nut on there to tighten and the XL actually audibly vibrates with bass passages. Any thoughts on finding a longer rubber foot? Also, any thoughts on getting an additional brass inset to move the rear foot to the back hole. I don't want to attempt to remove it from the front hole due to the cloth. I was just thinking of making some sort of riser for the from 2 to sit on but visually thats not the best answer.

The feet and inserts (all of them) are 1/4-20 threads, an international standard. We don't make the insert or the rubber foot, we buy them from hardware suppliers that make bazillions of them. They are intended for minimal leveling on the SuperCenters (the threads can't be very long because there can't be holes through the sealed cabinet), best way to tilt the speaker more up is to use only the front feet. If you need more tilt than that you'll need to get creative (thanks to the 1/4-20 standard thread, there are probably many aftermarket and hardware store options as well). If you want another brass insert just ask your GoldenEar dealer, they'll be glad to get you one from us at no charge. Or, email This email address is being protected from spambots.
