1. I received an email notice yesterday that Rick had added a post to this thread, but I don't see the post in the thread. The contents of the post were contained in the email. Curious.....

2. I had an email exchange with Cambridge Audio technical people to clarify the impedance requirements for speakers connected to the 851A (I actually found a mistake in their Owner's Manual, which they acknowledged). So, I am now ready to connect my Triton Sevens to the Speaker B terminals. The Sevens will be place in the rear of my room and phased to match the L/R orientation of the Triton One Fronts. Under this arrangement, the Ones and the Sevens will be used exclusively for music. I will make other speaker arrangements for connection tp my Onkyo to support multi-channel sound for movies.

I'll report upon results.

Hi, Art

I made an edit spelling correction, submitted again, and it got lost somewhere. The gist of the post was that while I love my Marantz SR 7010 AVR, feeding the T1's through an NAD stereo power amp also seems to add dynamics, and that I consider, off and on, exchanging the stereo amp for a three or 5 channel amp to see what that does for some other channels, including the SCXXL with it's five passive drivers, and maybe also the T2 surrounds. (I don't have room in the entertainment console to go 100% separates, especially mono blocks.) I still listen to 2 channel music up mixed to Dolby surround.

Keep the reports coming!

Rick

Hi Rick,

Interesting - now your original post shows up on Page 1 of this thread.

I am enjoying my latest arrangement, with my Triton Ones and Sevens connected as A & B speakers to my Cambridge and playing simultaneously. The Ones are the Fronts and the Sevens are in the back of the room and phased to match the front Ones. The Sevens are not quite as loud as the Ones, so the Ones still predominate as the source of sound from my PLP. Perhaps the Ones are a bit more efficient than the Sevens. Doesn't matter to me - I like to be able to use both of my premier speaker systems for music.

Best,

Art

The pairing of the Ones and Sevens is working very well for me. I have the Ones aimed at my PLP and I have turned the Sevens to face outward at about a 45 degree angle so that they project sound indirectly to fill out the room. Although I have previously used speakers as "Rear Fronts", I have never before faced the rear speakers at such an angle. The effect is to enhance the presence of the Ones as the primary sound source, while simultaneously filling the room with stereo sound.

It is likely that I will keep this arrangement for listening to music.
