Picked up my Triton 1's last Friday and set them up using the instructions provided. I am using the preamp section of a Denon 7200WA feeding a Denon POA2400 amp. Most of my music are CDs ripped to FLAC format stored on a NAS.
After playing with the subwoofer volume on the speakers for hours, I think I have finally found a good setting.
This is some of the best sound I have heard from any sound system. The bass is tight, and getting better the longer I use them, but the midrange and treble are amazing. The triton 1's replaced a pair of rocket 850s from AV123. There is no comparison.
Although the 850s were a step up from what I was using, the Tritons are in a completely different league.
I have spent approx. $2000 on room treatment trying to tame the shrill, harsh upper frequencies from the 850s. The Tritons are very smooth.
Imaging is top notch. Last night while listening to Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon, the crazy voices in the recording sounded as if they were floating above me. This was very shocking. I had to get up and make sure that the Atmos speakers were not playing. I have never experienced imaging like that from 2 channel playback.
Movie sound is also very clean and smooth. Im going to have to play back all of my bluray movies just to hear what I missed the first time. I use 2 Seaton Sound MFW15 subs along with the Tritons. Plenty of slam and wall shaking bass.
Needless to say, I am very pleased with my purchase. Just need to burn them in for a few more hours to complete the break in process.
I really appreciate the sound quality and price range of these speakers. I could never see myself spending $20,000 for audiophile speakers. This will probably be the closest I come, but from what Im hearing, this may be all I need.

stpierce, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your recent purchase of the T1s. I think you'll find you're in good company here, and we all agree wholeheartedly with your review/assessment. Just a note about the break-in period, it will likely be more than a few hours.

Congrats on your T1s!
I also use my T1s to play movies with my Atmos setup, and take the approach that if it sounds good for music, it will sound good for movies too. I, too, have monster subs and couldn't not live without them, despite the fact that the T1s have great bass. Even though the T1s are crossed at 60Hz, those 5x9" bass drivers still move quite a bit and contribute nicely. In fact, the fill between 60-100Hz, in my opinion, is better than my subs.
Regarding room treatments, I don't have any. I had some friends that also have very nice home theaters come over and we measured Stereo Triton Ones with and without some treatments (OC703-based) applied. Here's the link to the results: www.avsforum.com/forum/61-area-home-thea...sound-absorbers.html.
One of the guys who was over at my house writes for an audio magazine and said "The T1s measured very well. A lot of these speakers were designed so that they sound good in a non-treated room." I still want to implement treatments, but my room still sounds decent due to the very deep and expansive layout, and due to the T1s no doubt.

Congratulations, stpierce!
T1's (and GEt's in general) just amaze me. All you said is my experience also with the T1's. Detail, richness, musicality across the frequency spectrum with NO harshness, including treble ranges. No listener fatique at all, unlike most other speakers I have heard. I can listen for HOURS and never get tired of the gorgeous sound.
Welcome to the forum! Please keep us posted... the T1's will only get better with some break-in time..

stpierce,
Congrats on the new T1s and welcome to the forum. I feel the same as you regarding the price and performance of the T1s. They are about at the limit of what I would feel comfortable spending and they sound amazing. They certainly don't sound like a compromise...
I think the break in time for the T1s is probably around 60 hours but the improvement is marginal. They sound great right out of the box, as you have already heard. I also use room treatments and an external sub with the T1s. Due to the size of my room, I'm looking at adding an additional sub to get a little more room pressurization. I'd bet those Seatons are monsters! I've read good things about Seaton and have watched some YouTube videos on their performance. Based on your gear and setup, I'd say we have another home theater enthusiast and bass head on our hands.
If you're willing to share, it would be great to see some pictures of your setup. GET frequently features the pictures we share on their Facebook page. Do you have any future upgrades planned? Please check back with your impressions of your speakers as well as any great movies or music you are enjoying.
Cheers,
T Cobe

Sometimes I feel that it's my ears that are one being broken in, LOL!
When I switched from used T2s to used T1s, I had a bit of trouble adjusting to the voicing differences between the two. Given that both sets of speakers I had were used, I assumed that break-in would have be accomplished already. Perhaps the T1s weren't played enough, or maybe my ears have adjusted...
Regardless, my T1s do sound different to me in the 3 months now that I've had them. I no longer find the midrange too direct compared to the T2s, but instead, have noticed that there is nothing I can do to make these speakers sound harsh. Even when I find source material that's harsh, the T1s aren't fatiguing.
