Guys, don't know where to put this and don't feel like the GEt forum is a good place to post a thread about the subject. But so many friends on here know I have to exercise and that is a struggle, but less so with good music. I have tried 2 iems, the Shure SE215 and the RHA MA750, both good dynamic driver in ears and both sounding pretty good when they fit. Problem is, I NEVER was able to get them to fit and maintain a seal in my ears, especially when moving.
So I got molds made and bought some custom iems from Eartech Music. They are like our friends at GEt as in they try to provide good value for your money.
I got the Quads, 4 drivers (balanced armature) per side, 2 for the bass, one ea for mids and treble. I just got them and they fit great!!! I would forget I have them in, they are so comfortable, except for the fact that such good music means I do have them in. And they stay in, even when exercising or eating, I never lose the seal.
They sound so good and revealing, I thought I heard something I never heard before. I was listening to Jesse Cook's "Blue Guitar Sessions" and kept hearing a sound like the body cavity resonance from the guitar. So I put the CD on and listened with the T Ones, and that sound is not there. Put on my HiFiMan HE-400i headphones and that sound is not there. And both my speakers and my headphones reminded me what the nth degree of listening pleasure and finesse sound like, the ciems sound great, but they do not have it in comparison!
The bass and midrange sound superb though, the treble just not as much presence, or volume by comparison to the rest of the freq. range. There is a decided lack of "air" at the top end. So they are not totally balanced, but the good news is that they are not analytical or subject to sibilance either. They are really full and fun sounding, very well rounded sound, more than good enough for exercise and air travel.
God Bless,
Wayne
