"Too Proud" by Mighty Sam McClain is mentioned on Stereophile's Music in the Round, though it is not surround sound, the disc "BluesQuest" is one that K. Rubinson uses for checking out equipment. I ordered it and just got it, enjoying some great (older blues) music here.
SWEET.
God Bless,
Wayne

Originally released in 1969, I just got all his studio recordings, 11 CDs.
This is on the second one. The recordings are, well interesting. Different.
I must admit it is amazing to hear the jew's harp/jaw harp (do any of you remember that puppy?) on songs. And to hear his young voice, I have gotten used to and rather enjoy his older growl MUCH BETTER.
Just getting started on this set, but I think it will be great for my walks once I get it all ripped.
Cheap, I mentioned this set before. But once again, it seems that nearly every time I buy old music I am disappointed. I also got a double album of the amazing Wilson sisters, "The Essential Heart". It is great stuff, but just OLD.
Worse yet, I ordered a fresh copy of remastered "Layla, by Derek and the Dominoes" as I could not remember having a great copy of it. WELL, then I found in my stack of Hi-Rez I already have it!!!!
DRAT!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Well boys, my ship came in!!! er. I mean my shipment. From Amazon.
You win some, you lose some and some gets rained out!!!
They lost one item in my shipment sending it from Amazon to a freight forwarder to Thailand.
The good news, I finally got some walking shoes that are soooo good.
I had bought some new balance walking shoes but was scared I would not get the right size, mail order international and such, so went cheap? on $55 pair, not really worth anything. But found out the size was right, so this time I bought $120 pair, you get what you pay for it seems. I got the NB Fresh Foam Boracy V3 running shoes. I felt like a kid when I put them on, thought I could run and jump again!!!!
I got some blu-rays which I will report over on the other thread. Got the new Rolling Stones "Blue and Lonesome" where they went back to their blues roots, old style recording and all, well, you need to be a heavy Stones and Blues fan to like this one. I am only sort of, so it is not that great to me. Sounds ROUGH too.
Not recommended.
And I got a new Norah Jones, "Day Breaks", still early stages of listening, and I am NOT a big fan of hers, but this one is sounding pretty sweet, I must admit.
Recommended.
I will have more to comment on.
God Bless,
Wayne
