Wayne,

It's worth going out to YouTube and searching for this one. The album is Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Duke Ellington Songbook. Ella is the quintessential jazz vocalist in my book. Clearly I have more to discover, but good I'd good!

Cheers,

T Cobe

What do you say boys and girls? Ella, Norah, Pearl, Annie, Billie or Nina?
And yes, I left out a few, sorry.
My choice? It is actually a hard one. I love Pearl but her voice sucked, her spirit was infectious though. Ella has a pure sound, but I guess Annie is my favorite, at least this time around.
What about you?
God Bless,
Wayne

What a blessing music is!!!!!
I was in Mumbai, India and it was a weekend, time to kill, no idea what to do, and so I wandered a mall and in a book store I found dvds. One was the Mavericks (never heard of them, but I did know "Dance the Night Away") playing live at Stubbs in Austin, TX. Bought it on a whim, it was something from home. The lead singer is Raul Malo, who is AWESOME!!!!!!!! Some great songs on there. One of my favs.
What a find and what a blessing!!!!!!

and my favorite version of Besame Mucho:

A better version on the dvd.
God Bless,
Wayne

Yesterday at a customer's house a 77 year old man played me his rendition of "Amazing Grace" and "Summertime" on his harmonica. Said he sent off for a course when he was 55 and practiced for 2 years, and went through 3 harmonics trying to learn the art of "Bending,"before he became good at it.
I told him he could play for me anytime...really enjoyed it.
