Jeff Coffin & The Mu'tet / Into the Air (2012) -- U Don't Say

Listening to something new today. Haven't gotten through the entire cd, but from what I've heard, I really like. Sax, trumpet, keyboards and flute, with some great bass.

For the past couple of days I've been listening to my 25 year old Adcom GFA-555 11.
THIS amp flat out sings. The bottom end is VERY good and the top end extremely smooth, even when pushed. I think I'll keep it in the system for awhile.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

Bro Anthem, I could play that one too, are you doing anything differently when you posted these last couple?
Your Adcom amp was designed by Nelson Pass as I am SURE you know. And puts out probably nearly 300 wpc into your 6 or less ohms TRefs. So I am sure that what you are hearing is correct, ha ha. It remains a heck of an amp!!!!
From what I have been around it, it runs hotter than I want or need here in my home theater, it is hot and rainy here, so it is like a STEAM ROOM.
But you can enjoy it!!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

Holy Mackerel, Anthem!

Your "other equipment I have" storage barn must be a thing to behold! Other amps, B+W speakers, probably a whole bunch of speaker cables and interconnects.....stuff you just happen to have and trot out now and then.... :) I suspect you could assemble another amazing system any time you wanted from the other stuff in the barn!!!!

Happy listening with the Adcom amp!

Incendio / The Shape of Dreams (2013) -- Of Sword and Shadow

Monday morning I fired up the stereo and noticed a hum in the right speaker. My Adcom 555 11 was playing the "Problem Child" game, so I went out to the "Storage Barn" and brought in another Adcom 555 11 and hooked it up. Problem solved, up and running. Never can have to much equipment, right Rick?

WOW, what a great setup Bro Anthem!!!!! Enjoying the pics!!!!
You have 2 Adcoms????? I am surprised you didn't have them bridged and playing as mono blocks!!!!!
Just joking here, I think the TRefs impedance MIGHT drop down a little low, making it quite a drain on amps in bridged mode.
AND I am sure you don't need more power than you already have.
Still, mo power never hurts.......
Have fun listening,
God Bless,
Wayne
