Until very recently, the uber-rare Audio Alchemy OM90.1A amplifiers were the best I'd ever heard. Built like a tank and will drive any conceivable load beautifully. Musical and natural as all get out. Pretty amazing, really. Great low-level detail and thunderous dynamics when called for. But now they've become second-best in my mind since I heard the Pass XA100.8 Class A monoblocks. Yes, the Pass amps are better. They're also a lot more expensive. So now I'm saving my pennies to get a pair and as part of raising money for them both pairs of my OM90.1A amps need to be sold.

I doubt you've heard of the OM90.1A. Only 100 pair were made, designed and built by Andy Hefley under contract from Audio Alchemy. They were Audio Alchemy's entry into the extreme high-end arena, but the company was sold and that project stopped. They were all built about 1996. Here are a few details about them:

Fully balanced design and can run single-ended, too.
90 watts pure Class A into 8 ohms.
180 watts pure Class A into 4 ohms.
No current limiting, can drive <1 ohm loads.
Not sliding bias. They run hot.
3/4" thick milled aluminum faceplate.
220,000 uF of filter caps, multiple smaller values, sited right near the output devices for shortest path.
Approx. 75 lbs each net weight.
US voltage.

Upgrades I did to them (there really wasn't much to do):

Cardas top-line CCGR speaker binding posts.
EDI BRUS4 ultra-high speed bridge rectifiers.
Soft start (via inrush limiters).
Parallel line noise filters, no current limiting. You must have the amp covers off to use these, or filters can be removed. But the amps run cooler with their covers off anyway, and that's good).

Original MSRP was $5000 each. I'll sell these for $1999 each, plus shipping. Estimate 90-ish pounds each, in the box. Ship to US only, prefer CONUS.

Let me know if interested. If you're into really good hi-fi, these amps will make any GoldenEar model, especially Triton Ones, sing like you've never heard them. I can send you higher-res photos, too.
