So, most of you know I have upgraded a few times, and since I got nobody to sell to over here in Thailand, my home theater system has grown, then my living/sitting room system grew, then I was able to use some system components I was not using for a venue where we hold a "kids' club", place we teach some English to the village kids and help them recreate.
Then, until yesterday I still had an extra pair of GEt Triton 7s in my living room. Not being used at all.
And I have a few odds and ends of other equipment and LOTS of cables, not to the extent that Anthem has, no barn FULL, but still stuff sitting around. I hate that great stuff is being wasted.
So we started going to a new church over in Mae Sai, Thailand and the worship leader plays a Yamaha keyboard, that is it. He is a British guy (the church has Thais, Burmese, Dutch, British, Australian, Tasmanian, Canadian, and Americans attending) and really great at leading worship, singing and playing. But he expressed to me he could hook the keyboard up to his laptop and use a MIDI program and get much better sound, IF he had an amp and some external speakers.
So yesterday we got him all set up with a lovely, like new pair of T 7s, an old but WAY powerful Mondial Aragon 4004 Mk II amp, and all the connections, even some silver speaker cables.
Mercy, the sound last night was GREAT and everybody was THRILLED at the new, improved and much more powerful, rich, full sound!!!!
I know, for most of us here the T 7s are eclipsed by our much better and larger speakers, but let me tell you, MOST people have never heard such good speakers in their entire lifetimes!!!
Honestly guys and girls, most of us have no idea how good we have it!!!!!

On another, totally unrelated subject, Josh Allen, rookie QB for the Buffalo Bills, out of my alma mater, the Univ. of Wyoming put on quite a capable show yesterday leading his Bills to beat the Minn. Vikings, showing the world that we do in fact play football in Wyoming.
That is all I wanted to share,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hey Anthem, thanks, what's a blog? I have heard the term but don't really know what it is? Something you write and post online, right? Where would I do that? I figure the Moderator Dude is being well kind and patient with me just letting me post things like this one. Thanks Moderator Dude.
God Bless,

Blog is simply meanderings of convoluted or undirected thought of ones daily, weekly, or monthly affairs of life, or whatever topic one chooses to talk about.

How do you get started? You already have.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Good friends share good things.
Music is a VERY good thing.
An old friend in Houston just shared this with me.
I am blessed to have good friends.

Hi Wayne,

I enjoyed your post about helping out with your church's electronics. When I decided to rip all of my CDs to FLAC files for computer storage and playback, one of the results of that decision was that I no longer needed the 5 Sony 300-CD changers I had in my system. So, I donated them to the music department at East Tennessee State University. The head of the music department was delighted to have them and they are now serving useful lives throughout the ETSU music department.

For me, the pleasure was seeing them become productive audio devices again, rather than occupying space on one of my shelves.

You are spot on about how fortunate we GE owners are to have our music so beautifully reproduced. There are plenty of opportunities for each of us to consider when we no longer need some older audio technology.

Happy listening,

Art
