Hi! First Q: 65” Vizio UHDTV, Oppo 205, Magnepan 3.6 and wall panel surrounds, (which are not spouse approved so sent to another room).
TV is over mantle (ng fireplace), mantlemount wall mount that swings forward and down in front of FP. Planning to buy a pair of T2+S for L/R and Invisa Surround and Height channels. Stumped, however, by selection and placememt of the Center. TV mount won’t clear the mantle with my first choice Super Sat 60c. Looking for sensible alternatives/suggestions.
I’m thinking that the center could be installed behind TV when over the FP, but revealed when lowered tnto viewing position. I am thinking an Invisa MPX behind, mounted vertically in-wall. Medium to large room 10’ ceilings, one side open.

‘Tis a puzzlement.

Sandbag, that is a REAL tough one!!!!
Not even sure how you are gonna pull off the drop down TV, but hope you can. Not when the FP is still hot though.
The good news is that the T2+s are soooooo great that they will give you and amazing, awesome phantom center channel anyway.
I would get them in place and play with your settings on your surround processor, and see IF you even really need a center channel speaker?
You may not.
OR the Moderator Dude may tell you that the Invisa MPX behind the TV may be just the ticket. Never ran into one of those.
Just a thought, but there could be lots of ways to skin the cat.
Happy listening,
God Bless,
Wayne

Can't you adjust the Mantlemount to allow clearance for the center speaker mounted to the TV below or above?

Speaker behind TV will work (MPX vertical or SPS horizontal) unless you plan on watching TV with it not pulled down occasionally.

Otherwise Wayne's suggestion of phantom center, which will work fine, but, will reduce overall playing ceiling a bit and will not do as good a job of locking center channel information to the TV when viewing from an off axis location.

I'm in a similar position as the OP (MantelMount, over fireplace), but have an LG 65OLEDC8. Unfortunately, due to the low placement of the mount points on that TV, I'm unable to put a speaker on the mount itself.

I've been considering getting the SuperCinema 3D XL, mounting it on the wall above the TV, and angling it down toward the listening area. Any thoughts on this placement?
