Actually, my major concern is the size and depth of the sound field. The NAD unit just has an "Air" to it that helps me get lost in the music as I edit....and I rely on that immersion to put me in a groove.

The Onkyo was a bit flatter in the actual sound, but the imaging suffered the most. It was like the depth of the music got muffled. I could point easier to the speakers instead of seeing instruments across the sound unfolding before me.

I am going to go check out my GE dealer today. They started carrying Marantz and it is where I bought my NAD unit as well. So hopefully they have an example of both and some GE equipment to test on. Thanks again for all the feedback.

Well, I removed my amp for sale. NAD T 758 V3 will be what I save up for. It is the next level up and 110 conserving rate watts instead of 80 (not that the Aon 's need it).

The GE dealer confirmed it when I called. He says that the NAD is the best sound I will get for the money and that if I bought the Marantz and later added a better NAD amp, it would homogenate the sound of both components together and not just sound like the NAD sound signature I have grown so fond of.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.!!

Good choice, Roman

Since you love the NAD sound, the T758 should fill the bill nicely, maybe even be a notch or two better!

Happy listening!
