Wondering what amps folks are using...
I have been running my 2 channel rig, T Ones, with Rogue Audio Medusa (hybrid tube)
But saw a killer deal on PrimaLuna Prologue Four (all tube). Anyway using PrimaLuna to drive their GeTs?
2 channel -> GeT Ones.R, Rogue RP-7 pre, Kinki Studio B7 Monoblock amps fed by Oppo 105D, SonicTransport, OpticalRendu w/ 200,000 tracks, Rega RP8 w/ Garrott OPTIM S3 FGS Ruby + Sutherland 20/20 phono pre, PS Audio Powerplant 20
HT -> Marantz 7703, Butler Audio T5150 amp, GeT Ref mains

The ProLogue Four should be a nice amp. How much coin are we looking at? Less than $900? If so, Buy it.

To the original question, "What Amp do you use to drive your Goldenears"...Decware Zen Torii mk4, fabulous amp. Later this year will be looking into Decware SET Amps (2-6 watts) I here/hear that's where the Real Magic is at.
D-Sonic m3a-600m Mono > McIntosh MC152 > Primaluna ProLogue Premium Preamp > Oppo UDP205 > Decware ZLC > Triton Reference > Isoacoustics Gaia 2 > Canare 4S11 Speaker Cables > Audience Forte 3, Anticable L3 & Shunyata Venom PC's

Every great performance deserves an Audience!

I'm using a Musical Fidelity M6si. I'm very pleased with the overall sound of my system. My gut (and ears) tells me there is good synergy with the amp/speakers in this case.
Golden Ear Triton Reference (pair), Musical Fidelity M6si, Schiit Yggdrasil-OG-B, Oppo UDP-205, Emotiva ERC-3, LG OLED65C9PUA, Salamander Synergy Triple Unit SL20, Audeze LCD-X, GIK acoustic paneling

Hi Peter, IF I remember correctly (and that is a big IF the younger I gets) you have both the TOnes and TRefs?
IF so, you could easily move another amp into a system and try it out. See what you like.
I too have tube/hybrid amps, the Vincent SP-T800 monoblocks. But unlike your Medusa which mates tubes with Class D (which I would love to hear BTW, sounds interesting) mine play in Class A to 20W at 8 ohms, so I reckon more like 25-30W with the TOnes. Then in A/B.
Although we are getting SOME of the benefit of TOOBS, and I do like that, you would get considerably more tube smoothness with the Prologue and EL34 tubes. Bro Anthem, now, IF and WHEN he goes all SET tube amps with 2-6 W will get ALL the goodness of tubes and some of the drawbacks too, those drawbacks we have hopefully avoided with our tube/hybrid rigs. We will be rockin' while he will just be tapping his foot!!!!

Seriously I would love to be a little birdy in both of your homes if you, Peter get the P Four and you, Anthem get the Decware SET.
Would love to hear how they sound.
Have fun with it, Happy listening,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hey GDHAL,
That M6si looks pretty sweet! I was wondering, are you able to use the balanced inputs, run it balanced with the YGGY? If you don't mind my asking.
I run balanced from my Oppo 95 to my Emo XMC-1 to my Vincent SP-T800s. I think it makes a difference, sounds better, keeps things simpler, and of course is better connected all the way through.
God Bless,
Wayne

Thank you, Wayne. Actually it is pretty sweet. Even the extremely hard to please/impress folks over at Audiogon show some respect for this amp, and I've read from three different sources of previous owners that their road to upgrade found themselves spending $10K. Point being, like the Triton speakers, I would say this particular piece offers exceptional value.

To your question, I am using the XLR input of the M6si and XLR output of the Yggy. *However*, in truth while the Yggy is truly balanced, the M6si is not. I'm sure it wouldn't surprise you to know that I've been in communication with Musical Fidelity about this very question and other items of information that are not in the published specification. The M6si is internally converting the incoming XLR signal to single-ended.

That said, and not surprisingly, I have tried both XLR and SE out from the Yggy (as I also have when going direct from my Oppo and Emotiva, both of which also have XLR) and invariably I find that I prefer the XLR. Reason being and I'm sure you know, the XLR offers approximately 6db higher gain (basically doubling the voltage from 2 to 4) and in my particular case this works out very well.
