Define lower listening levels and what does good sound mean to you? I’m chillin to some Radio Paradise mellow mix right now and the trusty cell phone SPL is hovering around 65 dB. My wife will tell me it’s too loud but I’m loving the subtle details, wide but well defined sound stage, and rich mids. I think any speaker needs to be pushed somewhat to wake up just like the instruments making the music. Too quiet and what’s coming out doesn’t sound natural - it’s just background music. For HT all I’m worried about is dialog. The rest is effects where I’m less concerned about details.

It all worked out, went with the fives they are fine at lower volumes, their way more efficient than my last speakers so my receiver pushes them louder. I was just worried about lower levels late at night but all good. Just waiting on the super Center Xl to arrive I will have a nice front stage
