Hi,
I have a Onkyo SR 607 receiver hooked up to my Triton Twos and SuperSat 50 as center.

I am upgrading my set up and planning to buy:
1. UMC-200 7.1 Home Theater Preamp/Surround Processor
2. Emotiva UPA-700 Seven Channel Amplifier

Please let me know whether above products works well with my Triton twos and SuperSat 50 (I have Mission bookshelf speakers as surrounds, will upgrade later).

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Hi NaveenK,
I have not heard the Emotiva equipment, but I would think it would work well, and sound good.
I REALLY think this will be a great move up for you from the receiver. Separates should sound better and leave much more opportunity to upgrade further in the future.
But since you asked for suggestions, I use a Marantz AV7005 with Bel Canto eVo amp. I believe the Triton 2s can be magic with any number of equipment makes, but the better you feed them, the better they will sound. I wish I had the Marantz AV8801 or even something better. I guess what I am saying is, stretch your budget to get the best you can at this time, and these wonderful speakers will reward you with great sound for a long time. And you will not feel the need to upgrade any time soon.
I think you will be happy with whichever way you go. Hope so.
Enjoy the music!!!!!
God bless the child that's got his own.

Thanks Wayne, much appreciated.

I really liked your suggestion but I can spend as much as 1500-200$ not more than that. So after my research I found above preamp and amp fit my budget.

Can I spend all my money on one of them, either preamp/amp and hook to my existing receiver?

Hi NaveenK,
I know all too well what trying to live on a budget is.
As for hooking to your existing receiver, I don't know it, that MIGHT be possible, but I doubt it would give you the quality you are looking for.
I am pretty sure you will not be disappointed with the Emotiva gear. I never heard it, just wanted to throw out another idea for you.
AGAIN, I am almost certain that you are moving the right direction with separate processor and amp.
Enjoy!!!! This is supposed to be fun!!!!!

I think there are many happy GoldenEar+Emotiva owners on the forum, perhaps someone who has the combo will give you some feedback.

Hey Naveenk:

Choices..Choices... Choices...like a kid in a candy store. Like my Dad always says, "variety is the spice of life". Ain't life grand?

The UMC-200 should be a definite winner. Just do yourself a favor and look at their community page at emotiva.com. Has tons of information on this product...positive and negative.

If your HT room is larger, the UPA 700 may not give you the headroom you desire, especially if like your movies loud. Are you dead set on a 7 channel amplifier? You may want to consider Emotiva's other company, Sherbourn. They have the PA7-150 7 channel amplifier on sale for $1349.00.

If 7 channels aren't a must, the Emotiva xpa-5 (200 x5) $899.00 might be the way to go. Could add a 2 channel in the future.

Emotiva has a upgrade for life program on most of their processors and a 5 year warranty on just about everything they sell

Sherbourn has a 10 year warranty on most of their gear.

UMC-200 ($599.00) & Shrebourn PA7-150 7 channel amp ($1349.00) =$1948.00....right on budget.

Choices...Choices...Choices

Good luck on whatever you choose. :)
