Thanks, I assumed as much. Looking at the manual, it's hard to tell where exactly the mounting arms are. Are they in the location of Figure 4 of the manual (ie, not equidistant around the speaker)? Roughly 2 o'clock, 5, 7, and 10 o'clock? Just trying to figure it out before ordering them. And how far do they extend out over the overall dimensions of the speaker? Thanks again, can't wait to get them ordered and installed!

Oh, and do you happen to have a printable cutout that I can test? Or should I just get a compass and measure out a 9" circle?

They are not equidistant as they have to fit around the speaker's components. Probably would be best to put one in your hand, does your dealer have one in stock you can look at and measure? Otherwise, you can email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and ask for a mechanical drawing. The Owners Manual's Figure 7 is probably the best view.

The speaker comes with the cutout template, printing one out is hazardous as printing PDF's to exact scale cannot be done on typical home printers. It is, however, just a 9-1/16" D circle.

Excellent, thanks. Two more questions (sorry to be a bother):
1) For the surround rears, would you think two MPX's on the rear wall would be a better choice than two HTR 7000s in the ceiling? Unfortunately there are some pipes up in the ceiling right where they pre-wired (gotta love builders...). I can scoot the rears in 5-6" towards the middle, but I was just curious your thoughts. How high up would you mount the MPXs on the wall? Ear Level? Do they need to be 12" from the wall edge like the HTRs?
2) How many times can the grills be painted? I assumed only once, since multiple applications could maybe clog up the holes. But just wanted to ask since you never know how many times the room color might change...haha! Also, is it possible to just buy the magnetic grill? How much are they?

Sure, no bother...

1) For your surround (5.1) speakers, my personal preference is on the side walls, behind the main listening positions, mounted as high as possible. Invisa MPX work great for this. Rear wall location is less preferred, but certainly fine (we demo that way at shows, used MPX in that position and it sounded fabulous). You'll want to keep them fairly far apart too. And yes, they have lock arms that extend beyond the cutout;

2) You can always order replacement grilles (that would be my suggestion). But, if you strip off the paint completely you should be able to repaint again no problem, with properly thinned paint.

Well, I have some more questions :) I wanted to take your advice and put the MPX high on the side walls, just behind the main listening position (the couch is pretty far back in the room). However, as I started digging around, one side has a 2x4 stud and sewer pipe right down the middle of the area, and a window is right next to it. So that won't work, as there is no room. The back walls won't either since the room has an arch that opens up into the dining area, and one side only has 6" of room (and too many studs there).

So my options are limited to the ceiling. And unfortunately there are wires/pipes up there too. I've got about 17"w x 13"d to work with, that are 16" from the back wall/arch. The 17" is from the side wall in, and the 13" is front/back from the TV. There is enough room for the MPX speakers to be placed horizontal to the TV, with a couple inches to spare from the side wall side (and about 16" from the partial back wall/arch). Would you suggest doing that? Or putting two Invisa HTR 7000s up there instead? The Invisa's would be ~7" from the side wall based on the specs, and I know the manual suggested 12". Going to place the order tomorrow assuming I don't run into any more crazy ceiling issues, so I appreciate the help!

Also, do you have any experience with the Dynamat Dynabox? If the sound travels up into the bedrooms too much on the second floor, I've considered trying them to limit the sound. But I thought I would try just insulation first. Thanks again for all of your help.

Moderator, do you have an opinion? Wanted to order as soon as possible. Thanks! I don't mind the look of the rectangle in the rear ceiling, just want to know which would be better that close to the side wall.
