Yes, perhaps a disclaimer was in order. Also good advice for the “casual reader” to do just that, “read” and not “do”!
That said – and not to belabor this important topic - my thinking in resurrecting this post can have value to those looking to understand something as basic as whether or not they can safely plug both speakers (assuming two channel setup) into the same outlet, such as power strip or conditioner. In this context “safely” means not drawing so much amperage that the circuit breaker trips. A typical breaker is 15 amp. So while pointed out the amperage of any one particular T1 at full tilt would be 1-2 amps, having two speakers in the same outlet would be fine. On the other hand, applying ohms law to the 1600 watt DSP amp would lead one to believe (admittedly I pondered the possibility) of the speaker
conceivably drawing upwards of 13 amps, and that assumes an 100% efficiency amp, which we know is not the case.
In my case I have both T1s and my amp on the same breaker. I have not had any issue from a power perspective, but remain mindful of avoiding one.
