Atmos for the home has arrived to rave reviews, and after our own first experience, we couldn't agree more. This is the most significant new surround sound technology for the home in 20 years. In case you're not old enough, that's when Dolby Digital was introduced to the industry (at the time, as AC-3 on laser discs). There is no doubt that virtually every piece of home theater electronics and every available surround sound content will be Dolby Atmos in very short order. It is happening quickly because it is not subtle, this is a huge new "wow".

But the question is, how best to implement with GoldenEar speakers? Since you asked, click here to read on ...

I was over at my local dealer and they set up an Atmos demo room to the same specs as the demo over at CEDIA. Well they still have to dial in the room because the bass was buzzing all the "in wall" sub woofers. Once they have that tweak done.....I want to go back and give it a listen. They started out with the opening scene for the new Transformers: Age of Extinction (which was recorded in Atmos)....wow. As the dinosaurs and alien ships were moving...It felt like I was actually on the ground...it turned the couch into a massage couch (no quarter needed)....and stuff like the plane flying in came from upper right behind and flew across......I could track it well enough to shoot it down if I were blindfolded.

I have to get the Blue-Ray.....its pretty darned crazy.

Yep...exact spec to the CEDIA show. They said they worked with GE to set up the showroom to the exact recipe. :)

The click here link appears to be broken. I would enjoy reading it if anybody has a working link. Also, I would love to know what GoldenEar’s home theater configuration was for the CEDIA event mentioned in this thread.
