I have the SSat3 setup with the FF4 sub. Onkyo Dolby Atmos. My "Go To" demo for the system which I manually dialed in (using recommendations here in the forums) instead of using the "auto config" microphone....is Transformers: Age of Extinction. OMG. The sounds the bass.....are insanity.

The opening scene tells you everything you need to know about how well your system is dialed in. Insane bass test as the ships fly over and are blasting the canyon. The sound of the dinosaurs as they are running and calling out. Its like your sitting in the valley listening to it happen for real. The couch vibrates.....(as does anything not nailed down)......and the entire move has amazing placements of the sounds. A worthy first purchase.

If you play it and are not blown away...let me know and I can give you the recommendations needed to manually dial the system. My system didn't really wake up till I did the manual config....the "listening device" was rather off. And its not that hard.

Welcome to the GE family.....I hope your as blown away as I am with the quality of the system.

One of my favorite BluRay music demos, if you like to rock, is "Jeff Beck Performing this week live at Ronnie Scott's". (Disc default is to 2ch PCM, make sure to select the HD mutli-channel audio track.)

CONTENT IS KING!

One thing I think us nerds who are passionate about our audio/videophilia forget is that what we care about is to help tell a story! For the average person, it's not about flat frequency response, or hearing an extended dynamic range, etc. It's about experiencing a story.

When choosing demo material, it's important to think about the story being told in those 5-10 minutes. People will be impressed with your system with whatever you show, but if you choose a scene that has a complete story and ends with positive excitement, people will associate that excitement with your home theater!

For example,[SPOILERS] even though the big sky battle towards the end of Guardians of the Galaxy features some awesome vibrant colors and whirlwind of ship sounds, it's part of the climax of the film and actually ends on a low point for our heroes. Instead, I'd recommend the scene where they escape from prison. It starts with revealing what they need to do and how, features some humor and some fun action, but most importantly, it ends with the protagonists' success.

Tl;DR - Story is what matters. Choose a demo scene that tells a great story and people will love your system because it helps them experience that story.
