Surprised no one seems to have mentioned it, but the remastered + extras White Album is outstanding. The extra-expanded edition has "The Esher" versions - essentially the Beatles introducing the songs each had written to the others, recorded on 4 track and sounding great. A bit of an "unplugged". Plus many different takes of songs on the album and other albums (for example, take 1 of Hey Jude).
The highest highlight, for me, is the 5.1 bluray audio version of the full album. Over the past few days I've had some friends over for impromptu listening parties, and to a man or woman they've been wowed by the sound of the White Album in 5.1 on my HT setup. And when was the last time you and friends just sat around listening to an album? It's happening with this one! Can't recommend it enough...

Unfortunately, legally, the only way to get it is with the super deluxe box set for yes $150 or so at Amazon.
Sadly they don't sell it separately.

Acoustic Alchemy/Arcanum (1996) -- Homecoming

When paired with silver IC's, this cd is something very Special, sonically.

The Beatles? Seriously? The wife despises the Beatles as much as i despise the banjo. To keep the peace, i run a Beatle & Banjo Free house.

Thanks Peter to write about this, I had not heard of it.
I am not interested in 6 CDs of various takes of songs, BUT
I really would love to have that Blu ray with the White Album in 5.1
Would make a great Christmas present to myself, like Anthem does.
Looked on the Amazon and it is not a good deal at this time, hope I can find it affordably.
Thanks, God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.
